Hague Convention 1980 and Brussels II-ter

For contracting countries — including all EU Member States — the 1980 Hague Convention provides a specific procedure involving the Central Authorities. The Brussels II-ter Regulation (2022) has reinforced return procedures and added judicial-cooperation mechanisms. The Firm handles every step, from the application to the foreign judicial process via local correspondents.

Morocco and Egypt cases

Morocco is a party to the Hague Convention, but applying it requires deep knowledge of local practice and of Islamic family law (Moudawwana). Egypt has not acceded to the Convention: in those cases the Firm operates through diplomatic and consular channels, applicable local law, bilateral arrangements and trusted local correspondents. The Firm has successfully handled cases concluded with the child's return to Italy in both contexts.
